Police reports

Brooke County Sheriff

Charged: Toccarez N. Bracy, 42, Parkersburg, driving under the influence, Tuesday.

Steubenville Police

Freeloading: Residents in the 400 block of Clinton Street were arguing about the rent money, Monday. A female said the man “wants to reside with her” but has “put forth no effort in assisting her with the bills” and her rent’s due soon. She said they argued and he became upset and was “throwing” her around her residence.

Big sleep: Two people dozed off at the gas pump at Circle K, Tuesday. Police said the driver and front seat passenger were both slumped over, so they made sure the vehicle was in park and turned the engine off. No alcohol or drug paraphernalia was visible, they said, and both denied using either. Police said they detected no signs of impairment other than them being asleep at the wheel, and the female driver passed a field sobriety test. Both of them had suspended licenses so police had them call a licensed driver for a ride home.

Three charged: Three people were charged after police allegedly found drugs, drug paraphernalia and a loaded semi-automatic gun in the car they were traveling in during a traffic stop on Washington at 3rd Street, Tuesday. Police said the driver, Patrick M. Long, 30, of 86 Twenty Seventh St., Wellsburg, was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia and cited for driving under suspension and expired registration. A male passenger, Marquon Underwood, 26, 1915 Yankee St., Wellsburg, was charged with conveying prohibited items into a detention facility, carrying a concealed weapon, improperly handling a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and two counts of possessing drugs. A female passenger, Samantha J. Cremeans, 28, 832 South St., Steubenville, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Underwood is prohibited from having or using firearms.

Wrong place, wrong time: Police assisting on another call said they spotted a male at the scene who had several outstanding arrest warrants, Wednesday. Travis S. Scurry, 43, 607 Highland Ave., Steubenville, was served with a warrant out of Toronto County Court for failure to comply, a warrant out of Common Pleas Court’s juvenile division for failure to appear and a warrant out of Steubenville Municipal Court for criminal trespass, police said.

Served: Wesley L.R. Bowling, 37, 511 Highland Ave., Steubenville, warrant for domestic violence, Monday. Bowling was wanted for allegedly following and then assaulting a woman Feb. 1 in downtown Steubenville, leaving her with a broken tooth and a bloody nose and mouth.

Booked: Amanda Burrows, 24, 901 Bank Street, Apt. 61, Toronto, possession of drugs, falsification and probation violation, Monday. Police said they’d been notified of a woman possibly overdosing in a public restroom and when they arrived said Burrows was walking out the door, though she allegedly gave them a different name. Police said first responders spotted a hypodermic needle in her sweatshirt pocket and allege they also found two bags containing suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl in the bathroom stall where she’d been. After discovering the warrant for the probation violation Burrows was booked into the county jail, they said.
