Steubenville Police
Pipe dreams: A resident in the 1400 block of Oregon Avenue told police someone stole his pipes from his house, but when he showed them his basement police said all was as it should be, Wednesday. Police said he found "all of his water pipes ... to be present."
Booked: Jiah Minniefield, 26, 622 Brady Ave., Steubenville, obstruction and also served with a bench warrant, Wednesday. Minniefield allegedly was causing a disturbance in the 500 block of Maxwell Avenue and when the homeowner asked police to enter the home, they said she barricaded herself in a room, then fled through an open window. Police said they pursued Minniefield on foot "(until) she eventually stopped."
Parting ways: Police said a woman causing a disturbance in the drive-thru line at a local eatery turned out to be a former employee with a grudge, Wednesday. She denied causing problems, but the manager told police the woman "used profanity while at the drive-thru, knocked on the window several times in attempts to degrade the workers and was filming." The manager since the woman was terminated, "she has been causing disturbances while going through the drive-thru." The manager doesn't want the woman to return to the business and is taking steps to ban her from the property, information police relayed to her after her companion finished purchasing their drinks.
Code issues: Notice of violation was given the owner of a property at 427 Washington St., scattered household litter. The owner said a utility trailer loaded with litter and a registration that expired 10 years ago did not belong to him and was advised of the procedure to have it towed through municipal court.

Jefferson County Sheriff
Unattended toddler: A woman traveling on state Route 151 told deputies she saw "a very small child in the middle of the road walking a dog" while wearing only a diaper, Wednesday. She said she jumped out of her car and wrapped her coat around the child, who ran into a residence. She said she and her husband knocked on the door and yelled into the residence, but no adult answered. Deputies responded to the location and contacted children services.
