Mingo Junction Police
Booked: Steve Braun, 43, 128 Grandview Ave., domestic violence, Wednesday. A woman and her daughter told police that Braun had gotten physical during an argument over money. Neither said they sustained any injuries that required medical attention. Braun was booked on charges of domestic violence without incident.
Bench warrant: Zachary Keister, 31, 181 Talbott Dive., Wintersville, expired plates, Thursday. Police made contact with Keister, whose vehicle had run out of gas along state Route 7, just north of Logan Avenue. A reports system search showed that the vehicle Keister was driving had expired plates, and he had been driving with a suspended license. 911 dispatch also confirmed that Keister had a bench warrant for failure to appear in Toronto county court. Keister was issued a citation for the expired plates and taken into custody to be booked and served with his warrant.
Charged: Stephen Kovach, 36, 3129 Wilson Ave., unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, Dec. 5.

Christmas thieving: Packages were reportedly stolen from porches on Wellesley Avenue, Belleview Boulevard, Eve Drive, Granard Parkway and Hawthorne Court over the weekend.
• The Wellesley Avenue resident said a package containing merchandise valued at $43 was taken minutes after it was delivered by Amazon, Friday.
• The Belleview Boulevard resident said a woman wearing a hoodie walked onto her porch, said "thank you" and then stole three packages that had been delivered by Amazon, fleeing in a silver vehicle, Friday.
• Hawthorne Court residents said a package valued at about $50 was stolen from their porch, Saturday. Security footage was given to police.
• An Eve Drive resident told police someone grabbed a package that had been delivered to her house, Saturday. She said it was delivered around 12:30 p.m. and when she looked for it a couple of hours later "it was no longer there."
• A resident in the 800 block of Granard Parkway said a package delivered by Amazon was stolen from her porch overnight.
Rampage: A Lovers Lane resident said her juvenile son had gone through the house yelling and punching walls after she found marijuana paraphernalia in his room, Thursday. She said he left the house as he usually does after an argument but expected him to call for a ride.
Missing money: An employee at a Sunset Boulevard business said during the past few weeks he's been given four payroll checks that have come back as insufficient funds after he cashed them, Saturday. He said they totaled more than $1,000.
Scuffle: A woman in the 300 block of Summit Avenue said she got into an argument with her brother's girlfriend and the woman climbed in her car and "began choking her," Saturday. Police said there was some redness around her neck, but it was where her seatbelt would hit. She also said her sunglasses were broken during the scuffle. Her brother told police the two women argued but it never became physical. His girlfriend had already left the scene and didn't pick up when police had him call her.
Tight grip: A Woodlawn Road resident wanted to give his debit card to his daughter but his female companion wouldn't give it up, Friday. After speaking with her police said the woman gave the man's daughter his card.
Shifting story: A Maryland Avenue resident wanted a man removed from her home but he didn't want to go, Friday. Police said she was not there when the arrived and the man said he was aware the landlord wanted him to leave but he claimed he'd been living there for an extended period of time and hadn't been served an eviction notice. Police were later able to speak with the original caller, who told them he was not allowed to be in her home. This time when police got to her apartment he claimed he was on the lease.
Had enough: A man at a Hollywood Boulevard location said he'd let a female use his car and now she won't give it back, Friday. Police spoke to the woman, who told them she'd paid for it and both their names were on the title but said if she doesn't have to see him again she'll give it back. She also said she'd put his possessions in it and send her mother with the keys and title.
No control: A driver told police his brakes went out on Main Street and struck a guardrail when he tried to turn left onto South Ninth Street, Thursday.
Cited: Melvin Hayes Jr., 25, state Route 646, Richmond, driving with a temporary permit without a licensed driver present Thursday following a fender-bender on North Sixth Street near University Boulevard.
Missing: A Lawson Avenue resident said someone stole her wallet out of her purse several days earlier while she was working at a fast-food restaurant, Friday.
Cited: Shane A. McCarthy, 35, 945 Virginia Ave., Follansbee; Zoe L. Reasbeck, 21, 147 N. 16th St., Apt. 8, Wheeling, and Shelley J. Meyer, 68, 708 Main St., Toronto, all for speeding (school zone); Stephen M. Baldwin, 22, 2239 Main St., Wellsburg, expired/unlawful plates; Chedrack Gbaguidi, 39, Pittsburgh, stop sign violation; Emery Middleton, 20, 2401 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, no operator's license and no taillights. Also, a Chevy Silverado was towed from the 400 block of North Fifth Street for blocking a driveway. The owner had already been ticketed earlier in the day for the same offense, they said.
