Argument: A Euclid Avenue resident complained her neighbor throws his dog's excrement in the alleyway behind her home, Saturday. She said she spoke with the neighbor but it's still happening, and said they'd argued earlier that day and claimed he'd threatened to kill her. The neighbor said she's confronted him several times over the past week, but told police he been tossing any excrement her way. He denied threatening to kill her but said she told him she was going to "have her son beat (him) up." Police told them to distance themselves from each other.
Potty mouth: A man was asked to leave Trinity West's campus, Sunday. He told police he was hanging out in the lobby because his girlfriend had been brought in by ambulance, and at some point "he was using foul language while talking on his phone," upsetting the staff. He said they argued and he eventually walked outside, but police told him he needed to leave the property.
Don't steal, don't cuss: A man "appeared to be irritated" when police told him the staff at Mr. Fuel wanted him to leave the property, Friday. The manager said the man "has stolen from (them) on prior occasions" and had previously been told not to return. She said he came in the store again and grabbed some items before she reminded him he wasn't permitted in the store. She said he "became irate and began cussing at her before throwing a sandwich at her."
Roof dwellers: A caller reported seeing "small (kids) climbing out of a second story window and playing on roof," Saturday. Police said the window was open but no kids were on the roof when they arrived, but they advised the homeowner of the complaint.
Roadies: A caller reported two people sleeping in a vehicle in the 700 block of Dock Street, Saturday. Police located the pair, who told police they live in their vehicle. No violations were observed and the two left the area, police said.
Friends like these: A Ross Street resident said someone helping her move into a property stole a sound bar and a cell phone from her home, Friday. She said she noticed them missing two weeks ago and contacted the man who told her he "took the items and sold them."
Learning experience: Police said a juvenile driver admitted attempting a left turn at South Seventh and Market streets and colliding with a southbound vehicle, Friday. The juvenile was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn. Damage was minor, police said.
Not smart: A man was sitting on the train bridge over Lincoln Avenue, "yelling at passing vehicles," Friday. Police told him to get off the train tracks and move along, which he did.
Booked: A man police described as "an ongoing shoplifter" was taken into custody at Walmart, Friday. Tony Smith, 30, no address listed, was booked on two counts of petit theft, police said.
Summonsed: A caller reported seeing a woman passed out in her car in a parking lot outside a fast-food restaurant, Saturday Police said the woman was slumped over her steering wheel and didn't respond when they yelled at her, and since the vehicle was still running an officer reached in to turn it off. That's when she woke up, they said, and "asked what was going on." While speaking with her, police spotted several small corner pieces of plastic sandwich bags of a kind used to package drugs and asked her to exit the vehicle. She gave them permission to search her vehicle and police reported the bags had no residue, but they did find a small wallet next to the driver's seat with Xanax inside. Laurie Crothers, 35, 697 County Club Road, Lot 19, Cadiz, was given a summons for possession of a Schedule IV substance and told to appear in municipal court Aug. 1, police said. Crothers also was cited for driving under suspension.
There's a reason he's an ex: A Market Street resident told police her estranged husband fled her residence with her cell phone when he found out Rent-A-Center was reclaiming the TV he'd been renting, Saturday. She said they're getting divorced but she let him into her residence and told him about the TV so he snatched her phone and when she tried to stop him "grabbed her up." She said she wasn't injured and police said she had no visible injuries, but wanted the incident documented. On Thursday, the same woman had told police her ex was supposed to come to her home and sign their divorce papers, but once there he refused "and began causing a disturbance threatening to strike her before leaving the area." She said he didn't follow through but she still wanted that report on file.
Bad reaction: Neighbors asked police to check on a woman in the 800 block of Market Street who was "yelling and appearing upset," Saturday. She told police she was upset over a recent falling out with a friend.
