Steubenville Police
Stuck: A man in the 100 block of North Fourth Street was upset because he wants to move out and management wouldn't let him out of his lease, Monday. Police tried to explain to him how leases work and advised him it's a civil issue.
Slap happy: A woman in the 400 block of South Fifth Street said another woman let herself into her apartment and questioned her about calling her son a derogatory name, and when she told her she'd never said it the woman "picked up a full cup of liquor from her table and threw it in (her) face, then slapped her," Monday. She said she pushed the intruder out of her apartment but not before she scratched her face. Police attempted to speak with the other woman but said she "was with a large crowd of people and did not want to speak" with them.
Jumped: A man said he was assaulted at the intersection of South and South Fourth streets, Monday. He said a group of men had jumped him and told police he recognized one of them as a resident of a building where one of his relative's lives. He said the man had been burglarized and thinks he did it. He said his aunt's car had also been vandalized.
Report: A Pennsylvania Avenue resident said someone stole a pink wicker bench from her porch, Monday. She told police during the past four months several items have been stolen. The bench was valued at $400, she said.
Doesn't pay: Police were able to identify a man who walked into Wal-Mart with a used basketball and bagged it, then went back to sporting goods and grabbed one still in a box and took it to the service desk where he tried to return it, Monday. When employees refused to give him money, officers said he left with it without paying, then went to a nearby pawn shop and sold the item. The basketball was valued at $75.
Keep it clean: Police stopped a motorist who threw a pop can on the sidewalk in the 500 block of Market Street, Monday. He was given a choice of cleaning up after himself or getting cited and opted to walk back and pick it up.
Porch pirated: A city resident reported a package from her employer was stolen, Monday. She said it was delivered around 10 a.m. and by the time she got home two hours later someone had already stolen it. She said it contained items she needs to perform medical exams for life insurance companies.
Booked: Jeremy Korzendorfer, 32, 719 Market St., Apt. H, Steubenville, bench warrant out of municipal court; Cory A. Poling, 27, 205 S. Fifth St., Apt. 6, Steubenville, bench warrant out of municipal court for theft, Monday; Ryan Gooch. 32, no fixed address, Steubenville, contempt of court and possession of drug paraphernalia, Friday. Police report they saw Gooch walking out of a business from which he'd been banned, and said when they searched him, they found a glass crack pipe concealed on his person.
Gone: A vehicle parked in the Wal-Mart lot for several weeks without moving was impounded, Friday.
Not worth it: Juvenile girls were actively fighting in the 800 block of Oakmont Avenue, Friday. Police said the dispute was "over a relationship issue."
Not talking: A fight was reported on Oakmont Avenue, Saturday. Police said they located a party but "no one (there) wanted to cooperate and denied any fighting."
Bluff: Two people caught inside a vacant property on Logan Avenue told police they had the owner's permission but couldn't produce anything in writing, Saturday. Police told them to leave "and not return until they could (produce) written permission."
Caught: Police spotted a man dumpster diving behind a Sunset Boulevard business, Saturday. After advising him it's prohibited in the city he was sent on his way with a warning.
Summoned: Rebecca Lynn Sisco, 35, 325 Moore St., East Liverpool, possession of drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic needle, Saturday.

Destefano, 66, 309 Rosemont Ave., Steubenville, failure to signal lane change; the owner of a yellow box truck parked in the 1000 block of Plum Street ticketed for parking a commercial vehicle on a city street; Jose Obaya, Texas, blocking a fire hydrant and parking too close to an intersection; Damien Jump, no age available, 137 Floyd St., Wintersville, no operator's license and expired plates; a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Belleview Boulevard with no registration "and weeds growing around all four tires" was ticketed and towed;

Problematic: A Wintersville woman said a neighbor had a spotlight pointed at her windows, Monday. She told deputies they've had ongoing problems with the neighbor.
Not so maternal: A Wellsville man told deputies he thinks his mother and her boyfriend stole the motor from his working Polaris side-by-side and put it in a non-working model and then traded it in for a new one, Friday. He said he let his mother borrow it and said when he returned to get it discovered the engine had been removed and she said it was in a "blue school bus." When he got home, he and his father checked the VIN and discovered the engine had the wrong number and was missing parts his father had replaced for him. He said her boyfriend had an ATV with a blown motor and after looking into it discovered the VIN for the engine he'd been given traced back to the boyfriend's 2013 model with the blown motor.
Booked: Sebastian Todd Facemire, 23, 159 Ohio St., Rayland, child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia, Friday. Deputies performing a welfare check on a property reported to have no running water or gas said the home was in "deplorable condition" with cockroaches on the walls and floor, and allegedly spotted seven pipes and a blow torch lighter in plain view and a small bag of marijuana in Facemire's pocket, and spoke with a young child who told them "when you turn the lights out in the residence all of the bugs come out." The child was removed from the home, deputies said.
Can't get along: A Toronto man said a neighbor tosses water bottles in his yard whenever he drives past, June 23. He said he's been having problems with the man this past year after he had someone else take out some trees on his property.
Cast offs: A J.B. Green driver emptying recycling bins on Mall Drive told deputies after he stopped three men from improperly dumping a pool liner there but said they just went to another location and tossed it, June 20. He said he found the pool liner at the University Boulevard bins. Deputies are pulling the surveillance footage.
Family split: An Adena man who'd been out drinking threw something through his brother's window and punched him, Sunday. He told deputies it was his house so he couldn't be in trouble, but they discovered the estate is still in probate, so ownership of the house hasn't been transferred to either of them. His brother said he'd come home a few days earlier and punched out a window. Deputies said the man throwing things "exhibited several signs of being intoxicated" and strongly advised him to leave the house, and he eventually agreed to let them drive him to a friend's house.
