Relationship issues: Police responding to reports of a disturbance in the 400 block of Colonial Drive said they filed a domestic violence charge against Antwane L. Thomas, 21, of Youngstown Wednesday. Officers said when they arrived they could hear screaming, and when the woman let them in the building she was "visibly upset" and had been crying and told them, "He put his hands on me" and had yelled obscenities at her. She told police he threw a bottle of lotion at her so she threw an object back at him, alleging he then hit her in the face. Police said the female "was screaming the entire time, trying to make (him) leave," but when they finally spoke with him Thomas alleged the woman had charged him during the argument and he "put his hands out and may have hit her in the face." The female just had a small mark on her face and didn't answer when they asked her if she wanted to file charges against Thomas, but they filed charges on her behalf due to the circumstances.
Steer clear: A driver told police he had just turned left from Mall Drive into the inside lane on John Scott Highway when his vehicle slid off the right side of the road and struck a utility police, Wednesday.
