Dysfunctional: A man and his 28-year-old son were in a fist fight at residence on county Road 47, Salem township, Jan. 11. When officers arrived his wife said the fight started after her husband threatened to shut off their internet/cable, but she refused to go into detail nor would her husband. She did take her son to a hotel for the night.
Uninvited: The owner of a property on State Route 152, Toronto, told deputies someone forced their way in to the property, Monday. He said he'd had trouble getting a squatter to leave the property so on Friday he changed the locks to a side door to his garage as well as the front door only to find they'd been forced open and the locks broken. He said there didn't appear to be anything missing, but he did find furniture piled in front of the front door and "multiple pieces of wood being screwed into the door."
Light-fingered: A resident living on State Route 43, Richmond, said her husband's brand new Milwaukee battery-powered drill was stolen, Monday. She told deputies she spent $179 to get him the drill for Christmas and that he'd lent it to a family member. When he asked for it back, the family member went to retrieve it and discovered it was missing.
Hands off: A man allegedly wrestled his pregnant wife to the floor during an argument, "holding her down and … screaming at her," Monday. She said she was able to get free and called 911. She told deputies her toddler was in the room but her husband's teenaged son walked in and took the tot to another room. Deputies said she had a small scratch on her forehead and had possibly broken her pinky finger, but declined medical treatment and left it for prosecutor's decide if charges were warranted. She said she'd thrown her husband's glasses at him during the fray.

Tag-along: Police charged Kenneth Lee Payne, 46, no fixed address, with domestic violence after four callers reported seeing him arguing with a woman, and two bystanders said they saw him strike her, Monday. Prior to Payne's arrest the woman had stopped at the station to inquire about getting a protection order because the male "has been bothering her and would not leave her alone," but left the station and walked down the street with him following. She said they'd been together for 15 years and are currently looking for somewhere to live.
Time to go: A woman in the 1200 block of Oak Grove Avenue told police she needed a man removed from her residence, Monday. He was running out the back door as police arrived, but she told them they'd been arguing and he began "acting aggressively" toward her and throwing things. She admitted he'd been staying with her for about two months and had been helping her with the bills, but said he'd "broken a chair and numerous items made of glass" and claimed he'd threatened her before he ran out the door. She told police she wants to pursue charges.
Causing problems: A Crabbe Boulevard resident said a man she knows is "calling and harassing her over (her) helping a friend pawn a purse," Monday. She said the ownership of the purse is now in dispute, and told police she and the friend are going to retrieve the purse from the pawn shop "and that should resolve the matter."
Pointless: A city resident said someone sliced his tire while his car was parked on Teresa Drive, Sunday.
Cited: Kelli C. Riffe, 62, 101 Forest Lawn Ave., St. Clairsville, expired license (less than six months) and speeding in a school zone; Brenda M. Watson, 69, 814 N. Eighth St., Steubenville, speeding in a school zone; Mandi L. Morris, 22, 202 Highland Ave., Yorkville, speeding and expired license; Alec L. Armstrong, 28, 167 Patterson Road, Weirton, assured clear distance ahead;
Booked: Elizabeth A. Newman, 45, 1595 Township Road 212, Bloomingdale, warrant out of Toronto County Court for domestic violence, Monday. Newman also was cited for a headlight violation; Renae Hampton, 47, 1220 Oak Grove Ave., Steubenville, fugitive from justice warrant stemming from a parole violation in Mississippi, Monday.
