Not worth it: An Irondale woman told deputies her boyfriend assaulted her and she wasn't sure why, Saturday. She said they've lived together for years but her boyfriend told her he wanted her to go and then shoved her out the door. She didn't want to press charges but did want to retrieve her possessions from the residence. She said she'd broken a few things in frustration because he was refusing to let her take any of her things and said he kept her purse, then threw her out the door and broke her glasses. Deputies tried knocking on the door of a camper behind the house but he didn't answer, though minutes later he called the woman's phone and claimed he was already "an hour away" so he'd send a family member to help her get her things. The woman told deputies he had to be inside the camper since his truck was parked by it, so they knocked again and this time he came out. He said they've been having problems and he wanted to file charges against her for "breaking some of her items in his home." Deputies told the man they needed to separate for the night and if he wanted her out, he was going to have to go to court and have her evicted. he told deputies he "didn't hit me at all, just threatening to or send me to jail."

Bad debt: A woman no longer living in the U.S. asked deputies to oversee a property exchange in Adena with her father's ex-girlfriend, Saturday. She told deputies the ex was forbidden to take a 1996 Harley-Davidson being kept at the property because the ex's son owed the family more than $7,000 in fees for storage units dating back to 2017.

Some friend: A Mingo Junction man told deputies his friend was intoxicated and he wanted him out of his house, Sunday. He said they'd argued and claimed the friend doesn't live there so he needed to go. Deputies pointed out the friend's driver's license indicated he lived there, but the homeowner insisted that he didn't care what the license said the man doesn't pay any bills and he wasn't welcome there anymore. The friend said the homeowner "began yelling at him for no reason." He told deputies they were both drinking and the homeowner became argumentative. A friend who witnessed the incident and tried to keep the peace said they were both drunk.

Chicken liver: A Wintersville woman took shelter in a heated chicken coop after her boyfriend and the father of her child refused to let her in their house, Sunday. Neighbors said they heard the woman banging on her door, yelling to be let in, and when the boyfriend didn't unlock the door she walked to the coop. She told deputies she didn't want to come out because it was cold, but they convinced her to crawl out of the cage, which had a heat lamp and was occupied by several chickens, and she got in the cruiser so they could talk. She smelled of alcohol and told deputies her boyfriend came home drunk and began arguing with her, then picked her up and threw her out of the house. She said she wasn't hurt and he didn't hit her, but their daughter was still inside with him. She was uncomfortable leaving the child inside with him but the boyfriend wouldn't answer the door. She didn't have a cell phone with her, so deputies took her to a family member's home for the night.

Mystery solved: A Tiltonsville man thought his neighbors were messing with him because his car alarm kept going off, but only when he was home, Saturday. Deputies said the man was convinced the alarm was being triggered remotely and said it had been an ongoing issue, and told them it never went off when he was away from home. They checked the key fob he uses, and said it was in good working order, then found out he had another one stashed in a drawer. After removing the battery, the alarm stopped going off.

Unhappy wife: A Richmond woman told deputies her husband was causing a disturbance and threatening her, Saturday. She said he threw a cup of coffee while they were arguing and when deputies spotted a bedroom door "broken off by the top hinges and nearly off the bottom of the (frame)," told them that had happened when he was looking for clothes to take before he drove away. She said he'd taken Xanax the night before, but it wasn't prescribed to him and she didn't know where he got it. He returned to the home, after deputies had left, and kicked the door and climbed through a window. He claimed the bedroom door was already broken "and that he might have caused further damage when he was attempting to grab clothes to leave." He said the window he climbed through was already broken and said he'd come back for clothing. He was told to find somewhere else to spend the night and if he returned, he'd be arrested.
