It must be love: A Dillonvale woman asked for help because her "highly intoxicated" husband was walking home and texting her, demanding her car keys, Sunday. She said she was afraid he would get physical with her. When they arrived, the woman and her mother said he slashed a tire on her car before on foot as soon as he found out law enforcement was on the way. She didn't want to press charges.
Get along: Family members continue to fight over a property on county Road 56, Toronto, Sunday. Two of three family members don't want the other one coming onto the property and keep calling police on each other, while the third "doesn't mind either of them and has not formally filed a complaint." Probate court split the property into thirds, but deputies told the man there are no court documents showing where the property lines are. The siblings were told to contact their attorney or have the third party decide who is allowed on the property.
Party recipe: Wintersville residents who'd had a cookout with alcohol got into a dispute, Friday. Deputies sad they were at the door for about 30 minutes before the homeowner appeared, and when he did one of his eyes was blackened and swollen, and he had blood on the bridge of his nose. He said he'd been hanging out with his girlfriend and their friends and they "were all drinking alcoholic beverages and cooking food on the grill" when one of the guests wanted to fight him. He said the man and his son "jumped" him, but he was OK. He said he didn't need medical attention and didn't want to pursue charges against either of them, who'd left after the fight.
Fishy: A Richmond woman requested a welfare check on a family member after getting a call from the Ohio State Highway Patrol that her vehicle had been involved in an accident on state Route 213 and she couldn't be located, Friday. When they located the owner of the vehicle, she told them they needed to speak to her boyfriend, who'd been using the car. He said it broke down a couple of nights prior and he'd left it on the side of the road, but when he went back to get it it was gone. A trooper told deputies it had been towed because it had been involved in an accident and the driver left the scene.
Not there: A Rayland man reported two guns missing from his gun safe, Saturday. He told deputies one of the guns was a Smith & Wesson model 19-4 Pennsylvania State Police 357, the other a MAG revolver model 19 with a four-inch barrel.
Second thoughts: A Bloomingdale man told deputies another man forced him off the road, Saturday. He said the older man "drove his car toward him (from) the oncoming direction, causing him to go in a ditch." He said when he got out to confront him, the older man got out of his truck and pointed a gun at him so he decided to get back in his car and drive away.
Booked: David Bennett, 63, Youngstown, warrant for failure to appear, Sunday; Taylor Jordan, 27, Wheeling, failure to appear, Friday.
Steubenville Police
Point and shoot: Callers were concerned about a man walking into the roadway at John Scott Highway and Sunset Boulevard, pretending his hand was a gun and using it to "shoot" people, Sunday. He was gone when officers arrived, but within 30 minutes another call came in that he was at the Lovers Lane roundabout , running up to cars and pounding on car windows. They kept looking but couldn't find him.
A man was lying in the grass at Adams Street and Grandview Avenue, Sunday. Upon arrival, police said he told them he was intoxicated. They also saw a beer can in his pocket and next to him on the grass. Ricky Barnett, 54, 1408 State St., Steubenville, was cited for public intoxication.
Bounced: Police broke up a loud house party in the 800 block of Longford Drive, Saturday. Neighbors complained about the noise and when officers arrived, they said there was a "large gathering" of college students." The homeowners asked for help pulling the plug because several people had arrived who were not invited.
Uh-oh: Callers reported a woman in an SUV in the 3300 block of Portland Boulevard who had been loitering in the area, Sunday. The woman told police she was trying to find her boyfriend, whose car was parked on Portland. After talking to police, she left.
Get over it: Ex's in the 700 block of Market Street were having problems adjusting, Sunday. After a disturbance was reported, police spotted the female leaving her ex's apartment and going into her own. She claimed her ex had his new girlfriend call her and she doesn't like her. Her ex said she's been calling him repeatedly and came over to his building, yelling. He showed police a video of her causing a disturbance in the hallway. Police told the two to stay away from each other.
Drugs: A woman in the 500 block of Linden Avenue apparently overdosed, Sunday. A companion told police she'd been smoking methamphetamine and he'd had to administer Narcan to her. Police said she was "very unsteady on her feet and struggled to walk to the ambulance on her own." She's already been issued three drug treatment forms so police told she'll be arrested for possession of drugs once she's released from the hospital.
Out of the blue: A Plum Street resident told police he was on his porch with friends when a man punched him in the face, Sunday. Police said his lip was bloodied, he was missing a tooth and had a cut on his face. A witness said his assailant jumped in a dark colored Subaru with another man and fled.
Porch shopping: A Wellesley Avenue resident told police she has surveillance footage of a man walking up on her porch and stealing a potted plant, Sunday. Police said the man pulled up in front of her house in his car, walked up to the front porch and stole the plant from the railing.
Not wanted: A woman in the 100 block of North Forest Avenue wanted her ex to leave her home, Friday. She told police he'd moved out "months ago" and his name was removed from the lease. He said he was just trying to drop off a laptop he bought for her and said he needed to pick up some items he'd left behind when he moved out.
Rescued: A tan pug and a white Pomeranian running loose in the 2200 block of Sunset Boulevard were taken to the animal shelter, Friday.
Ticketed: Glenn B. Butcher, 73, 205 Miller Ave., Weirton, cited for left of center following a two-car accident Friday at the intersection of Brady and Roosevelt avenues. A witness said Butcher was northbound on Brady when Butcher's car allegedly crossed the center line and struck an oncoming vehicle head-on. Butcher was transported to Trinity Medical Center West for treatment. The other driver was treated at the scene.
Ruse: Two men were arguing in the 1000 block of Wilson, Saturday. The owner told police he'd served his tenant with eviction papers and he was to be out by the beginning of the week, but the tenant called him and claimed to have part of the rent money. When he went to collect it, the tenant admitted he didn't have any of the money he owed him and the two started arguing.
Stolen: Someone removed an 8-foot steel kitchen table and a hot dog roller from the old Corado's Pizza shop at the mall, Saturday. The new owner said the hot dog roller had been in the back room and the table was in front. He's gathering serial numbers, police said.
Grudging: A North Sixth Street resident said a man with a grudge against him punched him in the neck and carried him down the hallway, Friday. He said the problems started several months ago when the man asked him for a cigarette and he didn't have one to give him. He said the man was still upset, and when he saw him, he tried to patch things up but the man cursed him and punched him in the neck and when he tried to defend himself, carried him down the hallway. Police said they didn't see any marks on the man where he said the other man hit him.
Vandalized: Someone broke the glass on the back door of a residence in the 400 block of Highland Avenue, Friday. A neighbor heard "a loud noise" around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said they found a bag containing a white powder in McCullough's pocket; Humari McShan, 19, Steubenville, failure to appear, Friday; Christopher E. Smith, 31, 965 Rinker Road, Steubenville, possession of drug paraphernalia, Sunday. Smith also was cited for driving under suspension;
Cited: Ted A. Konicki, 77, 185 Two Ridge Road, Wintersville, failure to yield. Konicki was cited following a two-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of Sunset Boulevard. No injuries were reported; Alice Swearengen, 43, 1220 Lincoln Ave. Steubenville, assured clear distance ahead. Swearengen was cited following a two-car accident at Lincoln and Railroad avenues. No injuries were reported; Rudolphus Strawder, 54, 153 N. Fifth St., Unit 305, Steubenville, expired plates.
Theft: A minibike was stolen from a home in the 900 block of Sherman Avenue, Friday.
