Police reports

Toronto police

Charged: Lorena E. Mercer, 56, 606 Henry St., drug trafficking, April 18.

Jefferson County sheriff

Return visit: An Island Creek township man said an ex-girlfriend showed up uninvited at his home again, causing a disturbance while he had his children with him, Tuesday. He told deputies it sounded like she had people with her and he didn’t want to confront the woman along with whoever she might have brought with her. She was gone when deputies arrived, but the man told them they’d dated about a month before they broke up when she “attempted to attack one of his children.” He said he’s told her to stay away.

Argument: Officers responding to a disturbance in the Meadow Drive, Wintersville, area reported a couple arguing, Friday. The female told them nothing physical had occurred and she was leaving for the evening. Her boyfriend refused to answer the door.

Booked: Bobbi Wilson, 22, Rodgers, warrant, Tuesday.

Steubenville police

Disturbance: City police filed charges against a man after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend by the neck and slammed her against a wall, striking the side of her face, Tuesday. Thomas Tennant, 27, 1293 Lincoln Ave., Steubenville, was booked into the Jefferson County jail on a domestic violence charge, police said. His girlfriend told police she fled to a neighbor’s house with her children. Police said her left eye was red and swollen and she had scratches on her neck, but she didn’t want to pursue criminal charges against him. Tennant claimed the woman had hit him with a dish so he struck back, police said, and when advised he was under arrest “began to scream that he did not want to go to jail.”

Enough already: A city resident fed up with her adult son’s drug use and on-going problems associated with it told police she wants him out of her home, Tuesday. Police advised her that, since he’s been living there long enough to establish residence, she’ll have to evict him. She also was advised how to get a restraining order.

Bagged: A man who tried to leave the North Seventh Street Family Dollar with paper clips, sticky notes and other office-themed items he hadn’t paid for told police he needed them for work, Tuesday. The items were worth $16.

Counterfeit: A pharmacy reported a man used a fraudulent e-script to obtain 120 oxycodone hydrochloride pills, Tuesday.

Petty ex: Police were asked to do a welfare check at an Oakgrove Avenue residence, Tuesday. The resident told them everything was fine, except he’s being harassed by the mother of his child “who was contacting police to respond to his residence for various reasons as a way to harass him.”

Out of time: Kroger employees told police a male had attempted to leave the store with items he hadn’t paid for, and when they confronted him left the bag and fled in his car, Tuesday. When they pulled him over, police allege he admitted being at Kroger and having merchandise he didn’t plan to pay for and told them he didn’t stay at the store because he was late for work. Employees said he bagged five items valued at $17, and when he was asked to come upstairs with them said “he did not have time for that” and left.

Bickering: Couples in the 1500 block of Oregon Avenue and the 400 block of Oregon Avenue were arguing, prompting neighbors to report disturbances, Tuesday. In both cases the women reported the disagreement was strictly verbal and everything was fine.

Cited: Notices of violation were mailed to the owners/occupants of properties at 2661 Alvarado Blvd., 2314 Chestnut St., 2331 Chestnut St., 2363 Chestnut St., 128 Negley Ave., all for grass; and 533 Maxwell Ave., old furniture, litter and grass;
