Tall tales: A Dresden Avenue woman fighting with her live-in boyfriend over alleged infidelities told police he hit her multiple times and took her phone, Wednesday. She told police she thought her hand was broken but declined treatment and clapped her hands several times while talking with them. They said she had no visible injuries. Her boyfriend claimed she'd been the aggressor. Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana in the residence and a bong was sitting in plain sight, but the woman and her live-in each claimed it belonged to the other. It was seized and destroyed.

Struck: A Terrace Avenue resident said her husband punched her in the face several times with a closed fist, Wednesday. Police said the woman's lip was bloodied and her face swollen.

Loaded: An Oakmont Avenue resident told police her neighbor filled her trash can so full she couldn't fit any of her own in it, Wednesday. The neighbor told them he'd been sick and his son had taken the garbage out for him. His trash was removed from the can and returned to his property.

Drinking: A North Eighth Street resident fell off her porch, Wednesday. Police determined the woman had been sitting on her porch drinking throughout the evening before the fall. She declined medical treatment.

Stressed: An employee of a Steubenville business and two customers argued over the need to wear masks and their effectiveness against the COVID-19 virus, Wednesday. When police arrived, a male who had been "very loud and using profane language" had left the scene.

Struck: A vehicle parked in the 2600 block of Alvaredo was struck by a hit-skip driver, Wednesday. The rear bumper and tail light were broken.

Hit-slip: A driver hit an AEP pole on the east side of Seventh Street, then backed up and fled the scene, Wednesday. The blade was split and pole leaning, police said.

Arrested: Anthony Freeman, 32, 224 Christopher Ave., Wintersville, domestic violence, Sunday. Police responding to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Oak Grove allege a female claimed he'd thrown her around the room and knocked her to the ground.
