ADENA -- Rebecca Jean Sliva and Gregory David Pyles have announced their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Roger and Donna Sliva of Adena. She is a graduate of Buckeye Local High School and Ohio State University and received her teaching certification from Ashland. She is employed as a second-grade teacher at Big Walnut Elementary in Sunbury.
Her fiance is the son of Judy Pyles of Sunbury. He is a graduate of Big Walnut Schools. He is a staff sergeant in the Ohio National Guard and is employed with the Department of Defense as a federal technician. He did two tours of duty: 2008 in Kuwait/Iraq and 2012 in Afghanistan, both with Alpha Company STB (37th IBCT).
The couple will exchange vows Sept. 2 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
