FOLLANSBEE - Ronald and Judith Penrod of Follansbee marked their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.They were married on June 15, 1963, at Avella Free Methodist Church.He is the son of the late James and Gladys Penrod. He was employed at the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Coke Plant for 42 years before retirement in 1997.She is the daughter of Duran and Anna DeBarr of Gerry, N.Y., formerly of Wellsburg. She is employed with the Brooke County Committee on Aging as a fiscal coordinator.They are the parents of Cheryl of Follansbee.They will celebrate in the fall with a family vacation.

ADENA - Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Malin of Adena celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.They were united in marriage on June 15, 1963, at the St. Casimirs Church in Adena with the Rev. Edward Kakascik officiating.He is the son of the late Arthur and Thelma Malin. He is a retired electrician from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel at the Mingo Junction plant. The couple were married on June 5, 1963, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Clarksburg, W.Va.She is the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Smrek Kopson. She is a homemaker.He is the son of the late John and Elizabeth Tokas Velegol. Higgins will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 5 by going to Gatlinburg, Tenn.They were married on July 5, 1963, at the LDS temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.The son of the late Roy and Bernice Higgins, he is an Army veteran and retired from Titanium Metals and also truck driving.The daughter of the late Paul and Sally Gilbert, she is an employee of Trinity Medical Center dietary staff.They have two children, Paul and Ginger of Toronto, and three grandchildren.
