Mr. and Mrs. Alan Sampson of Fishers, Ind., formerly of Follansbee, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 2 at the Follansbee Community House.

The party was hosted by their children.

The couple was married Aug. 17, 1973, at St. Paul’s Church in Weirton with the Rev. Harold Moore officiating.

He is retired from the United Steelworkers, where he was assistant to the director of District 8.

She is retired, having worked as a secretary.

The couple have two children, Erika Sampson of Follansbee and Joe (Stephanie) Sampson of Carmel, Ind.

They are blessed with six grandchildren, Mason, Peyton and Camden Bates and Quinn, Wilson and Hayden Sampson.
