STEUBENVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Larry Petrella of Steubenville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 14.

Petrella and the former Merica Savinell were married on Oct. 14, 1972, at Holy Family Church in Steubenville with the Rev. Carmen Savinell and the Rev. Joseph Malara as celebrants.

He is the son of the late Frank and Eleanor (Husak) Petrella and was employed at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel as a millwright for 46 years.

She is the daughter of the late William and Vincenzina (Carfora) Savinell and worked numerous part-time jobs.

They are the parents of Larry (Love) Petrella of Steubenville and Jodi (Mike) DeStefanis of Canton. They have two grandchildren.

The couple took a trip to Maine and the New England states.

They were given a surprise party by their children, which was held at the Polish Athletic Club in Steubenville.
