CHESTER — Mr. and Mrs. Russell Duane Lohr of Chester, formerly of New Cumberland, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 26.

Lohr and the former Jeanette Ruth “Nettie” Blankenship were united in marriage on Aug. 26, 1956, at Trinity Methodist Church in New Cumberland by the Rev. Kenneth Fordyce.

She is the daughter of the late Anna (Jordan) and Harold Raymond Blankenship. He is the son of the late Leah Mae (Mason) and Russell Wayne Loar.

He worked at Weirton Steel before his retirement. She retired from Mountaineer Racetrack’s Grand Hotel.

The Loars are the parents of three daughters: Leah of the New Cumberland area, Carol “Dee” of York, Pa., and Tara of Chester. There are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Loars were honored with an open house at their residence in Chester.
