STEUBENVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sunyoger of Steubenville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Sunyoger and the former Mary Antoinette Gallo were married on June 19, 1971, at Holy Family Church in Steubenville where the late Canon Joseph P. Malara officiated the ceremony.

Sunyoger is retired after 35 years of being a partner with S.R. Snodgrass, A.C., as a certified public accountant.

She is a tenured professor at Franciscan University of Steubenville, having started her profession in 1970 at Catholic Central High School, teaching there for 10 years. She then moved into university teacheing at Franciscan University of Steubenville.

The couple have one son, Richard M. Sunyoger of Steubenville, and two grandchildren.

The couple was surprised with a celebration on June 19, hosted by their son and grandchildren. On June 20, Monsignor Gerald Calovini of Holy Family Church officiated for a renewal of the couple’s wedding vows.
