WEIRTON — Mr. and Mrs. Jack Oaks of Weirton are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

Oaks and the former Carolyn Hanley were united in marriage on July 23, 1961, at Weirton Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles A. Thorman.

He is the son of the late Jack and Frances Oaks and worked at Weirton Steel before his retirement.

She is the daughter of the late Chick and Elsie Hanley and worked at Memorial Baptist Church Preschool before her retirement.

They have three children: Gary Oaks of Ohio, Craig Oaks of Pennsylvania and Paul Oaks of North Carolina. They have six grandchildren.

The couple are celebrating with a family gathering.
