STEUBENVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. John Finney of Steubenville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Finney and the former Roberta Kay Parrish were married on June 25, 1971, at St. John Fisher Church in Richmond where the late Monsignor Kenneth Uram officiated the ceremony.

He is retired after 30 years of teaching sixth grade in the Edison Local School District at Knoxville Elementary, retiring in 1999.

She retired in 2001 after 30 years at Edison Local teaching special education, teaching at Knoxville and Pleasant Hill Elementary schools.

The couple have five children: Erica Finney of Crafton, Pa.; Josh Finney, Ryan Finney and Kassey Minor, all of Steubenville, and Sean Finney, who died in 2013.

They have three granddaughters.

The couple celebrated with their family at their home in Steubenville.
