CADIZ – Mr. and Mrs. James W. Bateman are celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary today.
Bateman and the former Norma K. Lockhart were united in marriage on Oct. 25, 1947, by the Rev. Middleton at his home in Georges Run.
She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Mae Lockhart.
The son of the late Edmond and Lena Bateman, he worked for Teramana Brothers for many years as service manager at Twin State Motors, and he retired from Koppers Co. in Follansbee..
The couple have four children: Linda Landis of Canal Winchester, Ohio; Mary Jo Fisher of Jewett; Jim of Pleasant Hill; and Robin Martin of Circleville, Ohio. They have six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A family celebration is planned.
