West Virginia voters will be heading to the polls Tuesday to make their selections in the state’s primary election. An Ohio University medical student and an assistant professor decided to examine the relationship between six “social determinants of health” and the prevalence of diabetes. What they found isn’t really a surprise, but it could inform better decision-making — or at least a greater sense of urgency. First will be the June 11 special election in which residents of the state’s 6th Congressional District will choose between Republican Michael Rulli and Democrat Michael Kripchak. Brooke schools deserve support

Voters in Brooke County are being asked to approve the renewal of a levy in support of Brooke County Schools as part of next week’s primary election, and we would encourage them to do so. The levy, as described, would generate a little more than $12 million per year during a five-year period. Please note, this is a renewal of a long-standing levy in the county, and not any new taxation on residents.
