Golden Bears walk-it-off against Catholic Central
NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen baseball team rallied back for a 7-6 walk-off win over visiting Catholic Central Friday evening at home.
The Golden Bears (12-17), trailed 4-1 through three innings and 5-1 before they rallied back with a four-run bottom of the fifth to pull even. Each team scored in the sixth before Oak Glen walked-it-off in the seventh.
Lucas Zoellers had a triple, while Christian Chappell had two hits and an RBI, while Maddox McKay and Cam Carter each had an RBI.
Ethan Wedgewood struck out five in the first five innings, while Josh Maher got the win in relief.
Mason Meeks had a double, single and an RBI for Central, while Michael DiCarlo had a double and an RBI and Matty Jones had two hits and two RBIs.
Joseph Vranish struck out eight in the loss on the mound.
Edison holds off John Marshall
GLEN DALE — The Edison baseball team fended off a late rally from John Marshall Friday for an 8-6 win on the road.
The Wildcats (15-6) went up 8-0 before the Monarchs plated the final six runs in the last two innings to pull within two, but did not complete the comeback. .
For Edison, Kayden Russell had three hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Kyle Long had a double, single and two RBIs and Chase Freeman was 4 for 4 with a double, three singles and two RBIs.

Toronto out-slugs Wellsville
WELLSVILLE — The Toronto softball team bounced back on Friday with a high-scoring win on the road at Wellsville, 17-11.
The Red Knights (9-11) had a nine-run third inning outburst that helped them pull ahead.
Jaylee Brown was 4 for 5 with a double and four singles, Laney Danko had two doubles and a single with three RBIs to finish with three hits, Ana Wright had a triple, double and an RBI and Isabella Cattrell had two hits and drove in two runs.
Danko struck out four in going the distance in the circle.
Edison falls to Claymont
RICHMOND — The Edison softball team dropped a 8-4 decision to Claymont on Friday to end the regular season.
Maddy Cornell had a double and a single and Chloe Peeckens had a double, single and an RBI.
