Indian Creek falls on the road in tourney to conclude its season

GNADENHUTTEN — Indian Creek’s season came to a close Tuesday night at Indian Valley with a 61-29 defeat in the opening round of the OHSAA Division IV East District tournament.

Creek, which was the No. 10 seed, drops the curtain with a 9-14 mark.

The Redskins were led by Caleb Bodo with eight points, including a pair of 3s, while Nickey Eddy and Mason Lester each tallied six points.

The Braves, the No. 3 seed, advances to Friday night’s second round where they will host No. 4 seed Cambridge.

JM rallies past Oak Glen

NEW MANCHESTER — John Marshall made 10 three-pointers and rallied past Oak Glen, 69-62, Tuesday.

The Monarchs trailed 34-29 at halftime before outscoring the Golden Bears 40-28 in the second half.

John Marshall won for the fifth time in nine games to improve to 8-13. Oak Glen dropped to 6-15, including two losses to the Monarchs.

Will Weekley paced Oak Glen with 16 points. Mason Kell and Noah Willey each had 14 points. Gavin Geisse collected nine points and 10 rebounds.

Oak Glen won the junior varsity game, 64-61, as Chase Hartung and Mason Kell each scored 14 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Madonna falls to Cameron

WEIRTON — The Cameron Dragons’ final road game of their regular season was one for the win column Tuesday against the Madonna Blue Dons, a 56-29 victory, helped by an outsized double-double for senior guard Maci Neely.

Neely, listed at 5-6, finished with 19 points and 17 rebounds to go with five steals. The senior had 10 rebounds in the Dragons’ previous game against Clay-Battelle and nine in the game prior.

Macey Bertram followed with 17 points for Cameron. Shaleigh Littleton had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Madi Owens led Madonna with 11.
