Post 33 drops a wild one at St. Clairsville

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — For the third time this summer, St. Clairsville has defeated Jefferson County Teramana in American Legion baseball action. However, neither of the first two were as whacky as Wednesday nightás encounter on the Memorial Park diamond.

After trailing 3-0, 8-4 and 10-9 entering the bottom of the seventh, Post 159 struck for two runs for a 11-10 triumph over visiting Post 33.

Dylan Gregorcic tied things at 10 with an RBI single before Mason Myers capped another outstanding performance a game-winning single to right. Gregorcic also doubled and drove in two runs, while Myers legged out two triples in addition to his game-winner.

Myers, the fifth St. Clairsville pitcher to take the mound, earned the win with 1.2 innings of work. He followed Chance Maffe, Robbie Kain, Gregorcic and Jake Heatherington as Post 159 manager Mike Muklewicz was forced to use some different arms.

Evan White singled and doubled to account for four runs batted in while Colin Snedeker drove in two with a pair of singles. Heatherington singled twice to knock in a run and Will Balgo doubled. Jaren Starks also picked up an RBI.

Zac Smith singled twice and doubled to lead Post 33. He also drove in three runs. Landon Pownall also had three RBIs. Gavin Pownall and Hakeem Edwards evenly divided four singles, with Pownall driving in a run. J.T. Thompson had a double and RBI. Matt Parsons also singled twice.

Kaden Jurosko went the distance for Jefferson County. He struck out three and walked four.
