Zatta, Rohde lead CCHS past Caldwell
STEUBENVILLE — Catholic Central overcame a sluggish start to earn a 46-36 victory over
Caldwell Monday inside the Mickey Barber Gymnasium.
The Crusaders, now 2-1, were down 10-5 after the opening period but got things going in the second, scoring 14 points to grab a 19-17 halftime lead. Central took control with an 18-point outburst in the third.
Katie Zatta led the winners with 27 points. She knocked down four 3-pointers. Zatta had nine in the critical third period. Clara Symington contributed nine points while Ellen Rohde pulled down 14 rebounds.
Allison Egnot led the Redskins (1-2) with 12 points. Sheridan Archer and Katie Franklin evenly divided 14 points.
In the two quarter JV game, Caldwell got a late bucket to post a 19-17 victory.
Hanna Reiter scored eight for Caldwell. Emily Walker and Ella Maragos each had six to lead Central.
Central returns to action Thursday when it travels to Toronto.
