Brooke girls top Central
WELLSBURG — The Brooke girls soccer team defeated Catholic Central on Tuersday at home, 5-2.
The Crusaders got goals from Maria Meyer and Becca Bolster, while Sophia Walsh had an assist and Megan Brown made six saves in goal.
Central finished the regular season 11-4-1 and will begin sectional play hosting Ridgewood on Tuesday.
Brooke’s next scheduled game is set for Saturday against Magnolia at 2 p.m.
Weir gets big win over JM
WEIRTON — The Weir girls soccer team pulled away from John Marhsall for a big win at home on Monday, 8-0.
For the Red Riders, now 6-7-3, Liv Baker had a hattrick, while Jaidyn Kelly had two goals and Liv Bine, Sarah Stewart and Lexie Fayak each had one goal.
Fayak had three assists, while Kiana Luevano and Bine had one assist each.
Rayna Hoover made four saves in net for the shutout. The Red Riders travel to face Wheeling Park on Thursday.
Southern tops Toronto in four
TORONTO — The Red Knight volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Southern Local on Tuesday, 25-20, 25-27, 13-25, 19-25.
For Toronto, now 8-12, Hannah Dobbs had 18 kills, 20 digs and three aces, Taylie Thomas had 44 digs, Jenna Anderson eight kills, six blocks and 16 digs, Ashton Thomas 11 blocks and four kills and Leah Price eight blocks.
The Knights travel to Harrison Central tonight a 5:30 p.m.
