Big Red wrestlers roll past Sheridan
STEUBENVILLE — With 14 duals under its belt, the Steubenville wrestling team remains undefeated. The Sheridan Generals became Big Red’s latest victim, as Big Red rolled to a 60-24 victory Wednesday at the Crimson Center.
Steubenville continued to win in pinning fashion, taking eight matches by falls. Senior Aaron Ferguson, ranked fourth at 160 pounds in the state at Division II, kept his record perfect with a quick pin, while fellow senior Tyler Muldrew recorded a fast fall at 152. Muldrew is ranked ninth in the state.
At 132, Kaiden Minella extended his pin streak to three-straight duals with a second period fall. No. 10 Brandon Kinney (182), No. 18 Cal Beadling (103), No. 24 Anthony Shevlin (113), Anthony Hill (126) and Cole Antil (145) pinned their opponents as well.
Nate King (195) and Spencer Ostovich (220) also put six points each on the board for Big Red with forfeit wins.
Steubenville’s Ethan Pappas, state ranked third at 170, sat out the dual due to an injury.
