Brooke 3, CCHS 2

STEUBENVILLE — The Brooke volleyball team got its sixth win in 10 matches this season, defeating Catholic Central in a five set battle on the road Monday night.

The Bruins dropped the first two sets 27-25 and 25-23, before rallying back to win the final three 27-25, 25-13 and 15-13.

Preslei Ridgley finished with 30 kills, 22 digs and three aces for the Bruins. Ava Bolen had 13 kills, eight blocks and three aces, Mia Cammilletti 80 digs and Olivia Beecroft 47 assists, four aces and two kills.

For the Crusaders (3-7) Cici Ivanac had 10 kills, six digs, five blocks and three aces, Mari Mello 18 assists, three digs, two aces and a block, Jayda Jones 11 digs, seven kills and three aces and Clara Symington seven kills, seven blocks, five digs and two aces.

Catholic Central takes on Martins Ferry tonight, while the Bruins travel to rival Weir High tonight.

Creek 3, East Liverpool 0

EAST LIVERPOOL – The Indian Creek volleyball team continued its strong season Monday night, sweeping East Liverpool on the road 25-11, 25-23, 25-17.

The Redskins, now 10-2, were led by Taylor Jones with 11 kills, a block, two assists and an ace. Lexi Crane tallied six kills and three aces, Olivia Wukelic nine kills, five digs, six aces and a block. Carley Penner had three kills, a block and 10 assists while Lyndi Starkey finished with 17 assists, two digs and an ace.

The Redskins travel to Oak Glen tonight.

Harrison Central 3, Bellaire 0

CADIZ – The Harrison Central volleyball team picked up a sweep of Bellaire on Monday night, 25-11, 25-13, 25-7.

Lexi Ferguson has 17 assists, McKayla Dunkle 14 kills and five aces and Maddy Butler 10 digs.

Beaver Local 3, Edison 0

CALCUTTA – The Edison volleyteam was defeated at Beaver Local Monday night in straight sets, 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.

Savanna Ankrom finished with five points and two kills for the Wildcats, while Corinne Freeman had four kills and five blocks and Karissa Speedy tallied 34 sets and eight assists.

The Wildcats travel to Weir High on Wednesday.


Indian Creek 185, Brooke 207

WELLSBURG — The Indian Creek golf team edged Brooke Monday at Highland Springs, 185-207.

The match medalist was Brooke’s Ryan Bilby with a two-under 33.

For the Redskins, Justice Morris shot a 42, Noah Tweedy a 53, Luke Merriman a 47, Connor Garbade a 49, Mason Porter a 47 and Trevor Meek a 56.

Brooke also got a 59 from Alex Jezierski, a 55 from Alex Spensky, a 68 from Owen Petrella and a 60 from Noah Conway.

Buckeye Local 179,

Martins Ferry 183

RAYLAND — Buckeye Local’s golf team picked up a narrow victory over Martins Ferry Monday at Becwood Golf Course by four strokes, 179-183.

Aiden Polanski of the Panthers was medalist with a 41, while Gavyn Romanyak shot a 42, Jim Hornyak a 47 and Preston Lindsay a 49.
