Madonna girls come back, top Brooke 2-1

WEIRTON — The Madonna girls soccer team overcame an early deficit to defeat Brooke on Monday, 2-1, at the J.C. Williams Soccer Complex.

Brooklynn Mucheck opened the scoring for the Bruins (3-13) in the sixth minute, before the Blue Dons (10-6) tied the game in the 32nd minute with a goal from Kelsey Crawford on an assist from Kali Krynicki to make it a 1-1 game at halftime.

Krynicki then scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute, assisted by Kristina Lesho.

Abby Macek made five saves in goal for Madonna, while Hannah Buterbaugh stopped four shots for the Bruins.

Madonna hosts Indian Creek on Wednesday.

Oak Glen 10, John Marshall 0

NEW MANCHESTER — The Oak Glen boys soccer team defeated John Marshall on Monday, 10-0.

Lucas Harris had thee goals and two assists, Jeremy Adams two goals and three assists, while Alex Dilullo had a goal and an assist, Andrew Snyder a goal, Chucky Varner a goal, Andrew Giambroni a goal and an assist, Stephen Polly a goal and an assist and Mason Konchar an assist.

Jacob Clark made eight saves for the shutout in net.

The Golden Bears are at Beaver Local on Wednesday.
