Crusaders back over .500, sweep Bruins

STEUBENVILLE — The Catholic Central volleyball got back over the .500 mark with a home win over Brooke on Tuesday night inside the Mickey Barbour Gymnasium.

The Crusdaders swept the match, 25-21, 25-21, 25-20.

Leading Catholic Central, now 6-5 on the season, was Clara Symington with eight kills, 11 digs, two aces and 10 points. Anna Godich had eight assists, four kills, two blocks, three digs and five points. Katelynn Dorsey had 30 digs and six points. Adriana LeFever had 10 assists, an ace, 12 digs and three points. Theresa Bahen had seven kills, two blocks, 16 digs and five points. Cecelia Ivanac had nine points, seven digs, an assist, an ace and a block.

For the Bruins, who dropped to 0-4, Natalie Ryan had two aces, three kills and eight assists. Morgan Engle had an ace. Courtney Engle had two aces and five kills. Preslei Ridgely had five kills and four assists. Maria Kamarados had an ace, three kills and an assist. Ava Bolen had an ace and a kill. Caitlyn Minger had an ace.

Catholic Central hosts Southern Local on Thursday, while Brooke hosts John Marshall on Thursday.
