Harrison Central tops Edison

RICHMOND — The Harrison Central volleyball team defeated Edison in four sets on Thursday, 25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20.

Lexi Ferguson led the Huskies with 24 assists, 11 digs and three blocks. Kobe Johnson had eight digs and six kills, while McKayla Dunkle contributed 12 kills and three blocks. Maddy Butler added seven digs.

For the Wildcats (1-1), Karissa Speedy had 17 points and nine assists. Corinne Freeman recorded five points, seven blocks and seven kills. Gracie Phillips added five assists.

Edison travels to Beaver Local on Monday.

The Wildcats won the jayvee contest, 26-24 and 25-17.

Catholic Central 3, St. John Central Academy 0

STEUBENVILLE — The Catholic Central volleyball team swept St. John Central Academy, 25-13, 25-7, 25-11, on Thursday.

Adriana LeFever paced the Crusaders (2-1) with two kills, nine assists, three aces and 18 points. Clara Fymington had nine kills and a pair of digs. Theresa Bahen tallied nine aces and 17 points. Anna Godich had three kills, five assists, three aces and 12 points. Edy Harold added two kills, two aces and six points.

CCHS will participate in the Lisbon Spike-Off on Saturday.
