Crusaders finish 1-2 at Lisbon Spike Off

LISBON — The Catholic Central volleyball team went 1-2 in the Lisbon Spike Off on Saturday.

In the first game, the Crusaders defeated Warren JFK 25-15 and 25-10. Theresa Bahen had eight points, one ace, 13 digs and four kills. Adriana LeFever tallied seven points, seven aces, 10 assists and three kills. Kate Dorsey contributed six digs, four kills and three points.

CCHS fell to Lisbon in the second contest 25-22, 17-25, 25-6. Jayda Jones had three points, 12 digs and an ace. Clara Symington recorded seven kills and seven digs, while Anna Godich had five points, four digs, 11 assists and a pair of blocks.

In the finale, Heartland Christian bested CCHS 25-20, 25-21, 24-26, 25-8. Bahen led with 12 points, three aces, six kills and seven digs. Symington had five points and seven kills, while Dorsey contributed four kills, 10 digs and three points.

The Crusaders (3-3) host Toronto on Monday.

Toronto 3, Leetonia 1

LEETONIA — The Toronto volleyball team improved to 2-0 after defeating Leetonia, 25-20, 24-26, 25-13, 25-21, on Saturday.

Kennedy Cotrell led the Red Knights with eight kills. Taylie Thomas had 12 digs, while Maddy Stewart compiled 10. Jocelyn Merideth tallied five digs and eight points.

Toroto travels to Catholic Central on Monday.
