Big Red girls stop Potters
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Big Red girls soccer team defeated East Liverpool, 4-1, on Saturday
Chlie Petrelle put Steubenville (3-0) on the board first with an assist from Jadyn Bennett.
The Potters tied the game with a penalty kick goal by Kenzie McKinnon to tie the game.
Mary Marshall scored on a penalty kick to give Big Red the lead back, then assisted on the next two goals by Sophia Riley and Anastasia Crisante.
In net, East Liverpool’s Jenna Looseman made 21 saves, while Steubenville’s Zoe Nocera stopped six shots.
Edison 2, Carrollton 2
CARROLLTON — The Edison girls soccer team tied Carrollton, 2-2, on Saturday.
Laine Murphey and Maddie Brenstuhl scored for the Wildcats (0-1-1). Murphey and Holly Valentine each had an assist.
Alli Grimes made nine saves for the Wildcats.
Edison plays at Beaver Local on Tueasday.

GLEN DALE — The Brooke boys soccer team shut down John Marshall, 7-0, on Saturday.
Josh Ferguson led the Bruins (1-0) with three goals and an assist. Hunter Adams, Alex Isinghood and Blaise Buchnelter each had a goal and an assist. Tyler McMahon had a goal, while Eddie Marks and Kendrick Fish each had an assist.
In net, Andrew Coursin (zero saves) and Jeremy Gilchrist (three saves) combined for the shutout for Brooke. Gabe Carman made 20 saves for John Marshall (0-1).

Tuscarawas Valley 2
MINERAL CITY — The Indian Creek boys soccer team edged Tuscarawas Valley, 3-2, on Saturday
Elijah Liewellyn scored all three goals to lead the Redskins, while Gunnar Bruttell had an assist.
Same Ray and Tyler Stump scored for Tuscarawas Valley.
Coy Amis made eight saves for the Redskins.
Indian Creek hosts Big Red on Tuesday.
