Dragisich receives honor

IMPERIAL, Pa. — On June 6, Nathan Dragisich, a senior who recently graduated from West Allegheny High School, was named the Gatorade Pennsylvania Boys High school Soccer Player of the Year.

With this award, Dragisich will get to donate $1,000 to the charity of his choice. He helped lead the West Allegheny Soccer team to its first Pennsylvania state championship during the fall season.

Dragisich ended his high school career as the all-time career leader in goals and assists, with 86 and 52, respectively. He also set a single-season scoring record with 44 goals in his senior season.

Dragisich will begin his college soccer career this fall at Duquesne University. He finished high school with a 3.7 grade-point average and plans to major in business at Duquesne.

He is the grandson of Weirton residents Nick Dragisich and Ed and Donna DiBacco. His parents are 1991 Weir High graduate Brent Dragisich and 1995 Madonna graduate Malinda DiBacco.
