Crusaders down Martins Ferry for second time in last two days

STEUBENVILLE — The Catholic Central baseball team defeated Martins Ferry, 11-1, Wednesday night at Vaccaro Field to solidify its standing for an OVAC Tournament berth.

Noah Fayak had a double, single and two RBIs. Ryan Anderson tallied two singles and three RBIs, while Matt Bell and Dom Argentine each finished with a single and two RBIs.

Anthony LeFever got the win on the mound, striking out two.

Catholic Central is off until Monday when it travels to Shadyside for an OVAC Class 2A semifinal.

TORONTO — The Toronto baseball team stopped East Liverpool on Wednesday, 12-0 in five innings.

Nate Karaffa had a home run, a single and four RBIs. Lucas Gulczysnki, who was the winning pitcher, had two doubles and two RBIs. Zac Berger and Tristan Thomas also doubled and had each had an RBI.

The Red Knights travel to Lisbon today.
