Brooke boys top Oak Glen on senior night

WELLSBURG — The Brooke boys soccer team edged Oak Glen, 2-1, Thursday night on Paul “Bud” Billiard Field inside Brooke Memorial Stadium on senior night.

Garret Bernardini and Josh Ferguson each scored for the Bruins, who finish the regular season 10-6-3. Nick Cruny and Hunter Adams each registered an assist. Matthew Reed made 11 saves in goal for Brooke.

Gage Bailey scored the Golden Bears’ lone goal, unassisted. Jacob Clark made 14 saves for Oak Glen.

Oak Glen finishes the regular season 7-7-3.

Brooke hosts John Marshall at 6 p.m. Tuesday to open the sectional tournament.

Steubenville 2, Minerva 2

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville boys soccer team tied Minerva, 2-2, Thursday evening at Harding Stadium.

Jacob Noble scored both goals for Big Red, while Jacob Clevenger made 10 saves in goal.

Edison 5, Magnolia 2

RICHMOND — The Edison girls soccer team defeated Magnolia, 5-2, on senior night Thursday evening.

Lauren Ferrelli recorded a hat trick for the Wildcats, while Libby McAfoose scored twice. Laine Murphey had two assists, while Hanna Smith had one. Ferralli also had an assist. Alli Grimes made two saves in goal.
