From the Pulpit

Be who God created you to be,

Fearfully and wonderfully made.

Be whom He has declared to be free,

Not in bondage, or easily swayed.

Be in the world, but be not of it

Be transformed by renewing your mind.

For the world’s wealth is counterfeit,

And of God’s ways, it is blind.

Be meek, for the meek will inherit the earth.

For meekness is by no means weakness,

But controlled power leading to strength.

And in that strength, you’ll find completeness.

Be hungry and thirsty for righteousness

For in so doing, you will live satisfied.

This hunger and thirst is Christ in us.

For this, He came, and for this, He died.

Be merciful; God’s favor you will find.

In showing mercy, mercy, you will receive.

Being merciful will bring peace of mind.

It will be evident that in Christ, you believe.

Be pure in heart, and you’ll get to see God.

When you see Him, you will be like Him.

But without Him, life’s view will be flawed,

And understanding will be cloudy and dim.

Be brave; be courageous; be strong,

Be not frightened and be not dismayed.

In Your heart, may He put a new song.

For you, my child, for this — I’ve prayed.
