Things to think about

To the editor:

Dr. Martin Luther King, the I-had-a-dream man that all men would live in peace and made forgiveness a virtue, remembrance a vice.

No more violence, white on Black or Black on white, hatred omitted from everyday life.

Two children playing, Black or white, what do they know?

Only history and remembrance can make them hate, to have enough violence to commit a murder between two friends since first grade.

But history said they hanged my grandfather, and momma reminded me they made grandma a slave.

I tried, Dr. King, but remembering was too strong.

I should have forgiven those who have done me wrong.
