Consider WiFi hotspots

To the editor:

Since the coronavirus pandemic is resurging as cool, dry weather returns, there are still many hard-working parents who cannot afford Internet connectivity at home for their school-age children.

Meanwhile, there are spacious, paved and under-utilized areas that could be fitted out as WiFi hotspots, some examples of which include the parking lot at Eastern Gateway Community College and the former airstrip at Friendship Park.

Shouldn’t these areas be put to use?
