Smith stands for integrity, service
To the editor:
It is my great honor and privilege to endorse my Air Force Academy classmate and lifelong friend, Bob Smith, for Jefferson County Commissioner.
I can say, without hesitation, Bob is one of the most focused, determined and committed professionals I’ve ever known. I met and became friends with Bob more than 40 years ago when he and I showed up at the Air Force Academy in 1979 to begin our journey as career military officers. A cursory review of his accomplishments is testimony to his dedication and commitment to excellence. Bob has dedicated his life to our core values of Integrity, Service and Excellence.
Above all this, what really sets Bob apart from the rest is his maturity and judgment. I trust him completely, He has the self-discipline to give the constituents of Jefferson County his very best every day; he won’t let them down. His sincere warmth and positive “can-do” attitude give him a style that exhibits confidence, dedication and trust. The path he has been on his entire Air Force career and life has been one of high competence, committed style, and dynamite motivation. He’s a 9-9 – perfect balance of people and mission. As the former lead solo pilot of the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron the Thunderbirds, I know firsthand how important that rare balance means to servant leadership and team success.
There are but few among us that have the right mixture of ability, dedication, tenacity and savvy to succeed. Bob is one of those few.
