Morelli clear choice for office
To the editor:
I am proud to endorse Tony Morelli for Jefferson County commissioner. I have gotten to know Tony well during the past few years. He is energetic with a strong business background and is passionate about helping the people of Jefferson County. He is running for county commissioner because he truly cares about the community he calls home.
I have worked closely with him in his role as Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority board chairman, where he has helped clean up and turn around many of its properties. His involvement and leadership have been instrumental to this successful turnaround.
Tony is out there listening to you, and he hears you. For instance, he is adamantly opposed to any new landfill in Jefferson County and believes strongly that our back yard should not be the dumping ground for garbage from other regions of the country.
Morelli stands with our great law enforcement officers and is opposed to this ridiculous notion of defunding the police. I know you are, too. Tony also is acutely aware of the need for reliable high-speed Internet throughout the county, and he is committed to helping solve this problem. This goes hand-in-hand with Tony’s experience in economic development. Without reliable broadband, businesses aren’t going to locate here. That’s just a fact.
Jefferson County deserves a full-time commissioner — someone who shares our values, and someone who is ready to serve on day No. 1. The choice for Jefferson County commissioner is crystal clear. I hope you will join me in supporting Tony Morelli, and I urge you to cast your ballot for him.
