Many helped make fair possible

To the editor:

The Jefferson County Fair Board would like to thank all the friends of the fair, junior fair participants and their families for their efforts in these trying times.

In planning for this year, our board had to make tough decisions. A lot of information was gathered from the Ohio Fair Managers Association, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, the governor’s office and local authorities. After much discussion, the Jefferson County Fair Board decided all of our junior fair kids deserved a fair. This would not have been possible without the support of our county commissioners, Extension office, governor and local friends of the fair. Our community came together in cooperation and positivity to give our kids a junior fair to showcase all their hard work.

The buyers at this year’s auction came through for our kids, showing their continued loyalty to our program.

The Jefferson County Fair Board thanks everyone who helped. We look forward, with hope, that next year can be our best fair ever — we will be celebrating our 150-year anniversary in 2021.

I extend my sincere gratitude to all who helped.
