Remember when you vote
To the editor:
“A vote for a candidate who promotes actions or behaviors that are intrinsically evil and gravely sinful makes you morally complicit and places the salvation of your own soul in serious jeopardy.” (Bishop Thomas Paprocki: Catholic Times; Sept. 23, 2012.)
Since all life is a gift of God, by divine mandate it is to be defended and protected from conception to natural death, and support of those politicians who exhibit unmitigated dedication to the evils of abortion and euthanasia is gravely sinful. One must be aware “it is human to sin but diabolical to persist in sin.” (Suzanne Noffke: “Catherine of Sienna: Letter T 348.)
In obstinate opposition to Paprocki’s quotation, the confirmed champions of human sacrifice aggressively promote the inherent injustice of putting the innocent to the sword. As such, the leftist progressive movement is nothing but an ideologically induced spiritual lobotomy where the will of the powerful individual supersedes all gospel-centered morality.
In their quest for a distopian paradise, any pro-life ethic must at least be scorned as primitive and eventually, in their fondest wish, marginalized and repressed. Segments of the population must be culled for the good of the political elite. Having divested their party of all pro-life politicians, the progressive element now threatens the repeal of the Hyde Amendment so that millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars would flow into the coffers of Planned Parenthood, effectively forcing universal complicity in inherent iniquity.
One must ask, will freedom of a well-formed conscience be allowed to co-exist for those who believe in the sacredness of life if the aggressive progressive left possesses power?
Remember when voting, “Religious freedom is the emblematic expression of freedom of conscience, and if not placed firmly at the head of the scale of fundamental rights, then the entire edifice is destined to crumble.” (Cardinal Angelo Scola: “Let’s Not Forget God.)
