Mingo Junction comes through

To the editor:

On behalf of the village employees, Village Council and myself, I would like to thank the citizens of Mingo Junction for passing our garbage levy. As to quote some people at the voting site, “We have the best services.” The levy brings us $243,000 in revenue.

I would also like to thank the citizens of Mingo Junction for their support and confidence in re-electing me as your village mayor. It is truly appreciated. We will continue to do the job we have started.

I would like to congratulate coach Andrew Connor and his staff, managers and the Indian Creek High School football team on a great season. I’ve known Connor for many years, and no matter what he does, he is a dedicated man. This year’s team: First 10-win season, first playoff win and Ohio Valley Athletic Conference and Buckeye 8 titles. Congratulations.

Also, a big congratulations to the Indian Creek band and cheerleaders for all of the hard work they do in order to be prepared for each week. Thank you.

A big thank you to my family, friends and village employees. Without them none of this could be possible.

In closing, as the holidays approach, keep in mind what the holidays are about. Please keep in your thoughts and prayers the men and women of the armed forces who can’t be home for the holidays and all of our first responders.

Have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.

Mayor Ed Fithen
