McIntosh the right choice for Follansbee
Follansbee Council on May 27 officially named Jack McIntosh as its new city manager following a months-long search to fill the post.
We congratulate McIntosh and wish him well in his new role.
He has big shoes to fill, following the 16-year tenure of John DeStefano, who died in January.
McIntosh, who has been the city’s water superintendent for 17 years, already has made his mark while serving as the interim city manager the last few months.
Following his unanimous approval by council, he said he sees positive things in Follansbee’s future, and believes the city can be unstoppable if everyone will work together.
One of the big projects which will help to play a role in the city’s future is ongoing developments for Follansbee’s water and sewer systems, something with which McIntosh is familiar given his previous job as well as the year he spent employed by the West Virginia Rural Water Association.
He said he intends to play an active role as those projects continue.
Follansbee, as with many of our local communities, has an opportunity to set itself up for new businesses and growth in the coming years, and will need a steady hand at its helm.
We look forward to seeing where the community goes under McIntosh’s leadership.
