RICHARD BLANCATO
Richard W. Blancato, passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on March 21, 1937, in Steubenville.
He is the son of the late Guy and Jennie Pate Blancato. Also preceding him in death are his son Richard Blancato, his brothers Ernest, Guy, and William Blancato, and his sister Angeline Holbrook.
Richard graduated from high school with a passion for the outdoors and a dedication that would characterize his long career at Weirton Steel from which he retired. Richard also served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958.
Richard’s legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Pamela Dasch Blancato; son Joseph; daughter Diane (Paul) Zawolik and his three adored grandchildren Paul Zawolik and Brooke & Anthony Blancato.
Richard’s wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held at this time.
