Jackson Stemple

JACKSON LARUE STEMPLE (JACK), 90, of Newbern TN, formerly of Weirton, WV, born Jan. 18, 1931, met Jesus at the golden gates on August 14, 2021. Jack is now safely home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Olive Morland and Harold Thomas Stemple, brothers Robert and William Stemple, an infant sister and a son, Richard Morland Stemple.

After growing up and being educated in Washington PA, Jack served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Immediately after his discharge, he married his wife of 66 years, Kathryn Mounts Stemple.

He is survived by daughters Deborah Lynn Stemple, Dorothy Lee (Lendall) Yeater, and son Wayne Robert (Susan) Stemple, and a brother Thomas (Florence) Stemple.

The family soon moved to Weirton WV where they lived for 50 years, being very active members of the First Christian Church there. Jack was manager, then owner of Jim’s of Weirton, known by most as Jim’s Bargain Store or Jungle Jim’s.

He is survived by beloved grandchildren Nicole (Jeremy) Voss, Christopher (Jessica) Yeater, Ashley (Josh) Buchanan, Emily (Bobby, deceased) Hayes, and Kim Smith; great grandchildren Eli Voss, Grayson Yeater, Zoey and Bennie G Buchanan, Peyton, Aubrey and Tyler Hayes, and Kaiden Smith. Also many cherished nieces and nephews.

There will be no funeral because in death as in life, Jack’s desire was to serve others, so he donated his body to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for medical research.
