Ramon “Dutch” Bowen, 92, of Colliers, WV, passed away peacefully at Brightwood Center on Friday, June 11, 2021.
Ramon was born on December 8, 1928 in Steubenville, OH. He was the son of the late Elaine and Erwin “Sarg” Bowen of Follansbee, WV.
Ramon graduated from Follansbee High School in 1947. He served as an Army Corporal in the Signal Corps during the Korean War.
Ramon was the prior half owner of Tri-State Wholesale Oil, Paris, PA. He was member of the First Presbyterian Church of Follansbee. Ramon was an avid Pittsburgh Panther fan.
In addition to his parents, Ramon was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne (Fish) Bowen; and a sister, Helen Heidenreich.
Ramon is survived by his son, Ramon Bowen; and a daughter, Karol Jack of Colliers, WV; two grandsons, Brian Jack and his wife, Melinda of Columbus, OH, and Christopher Jack and his wife, Julie of Clinton, PA; six great- grandchildren, along with two nieces, Joann and Karen Heidenreich; and a nephew, Jim Heidenreich.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 1 p.m. at the James Funeral Home, Follansbee, WV (304) 527-1717 with Pastor Frank Haas, officiating.
Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery Haven of Rest, Colliers, WV with military honors by the WV Army National Guard and the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
