Martha Amos

MARTHA “SKIP” LYNNE AMOS, 77 of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Monday February 22, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 1, 1943 in Clarksburg, WV. Daughter of the late Graydon L. Allen and Mary Jane Hall.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Thoma, twin with Zachary Thoma.

Skip was a faithful member of the Weirton Heights Church of Christ; 1961 Follansbee High School graduate; member of Thespians; Valentine Queen of the Gamma Epislon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She retired as a secretary at the General Office of Weirton Steel Corp. Skip enjoyed photographs and albums, typing, writing, gardening, and all outdoor activities. She also loved to bake, sew, and making her grandkids items. Her specialty were gingerbread men. She created many beautiful memories that will be forever cherished. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, especially with her daughter, Heather. Her and Bob experienced a wonderful trip when they traveled Cross Country out West on his Harley-Davidson motor- cycle. Mostly, she adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Skip never complained through the 20 years of her Parkinson’s disease. Always a smile on her face and putting others before herself.

Surviving are her husband of nearly 57 years, Robert Ellsworth Amos; daughters, Shelley Thoma Borchevsky (Matt) of Bradenton, FL, Heather Lee Amos-Yeo (Timothy) of Valencia, PA; son, Robert “Rob” Amos (Shelley Delanta-Amos) of Weirton, WV; 8 grandchildren, Zachary Thoma, Remington Galcik (Eric), Jocelyn Amos, twins Hunter Baselj and Hayley Baselj, Caleb Amos, Joshua Amos, Amberly Rose Amos; great granddaughter, Payton Jane Galcik; step grandchildren, Stephanie Fliemin (Adam), Kristen Yeo, Logan Yeo, Brock Burnett and Eva Burnett as well as step great grandchildren Aria Fleming and Owen Fleming

Visitation will be Thursday February 25, 2021 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Evangelist Steve Smithbauer presiding. Entombment will follow at Sewickley Cemetery, Sewickley, PA.
