Barbara Churchill

Barbara Jane Flynn Churchill, 87, of Salisbury, Connecticut passed away in her sleep on April 3, 2020.

Jane was born in Steubenville, Ohio on November 19, 1932. She and her twin sister, Jean Flynn, were 1950 graduates of Catholic Central High School. Jane attended The College of Steubenville. She is proceeded in death by her parents Michael Patrick and Anna Kathryn Flynn, her sister Mary Agnes (Robert Emmett) Joyce, her brother Edward Joseph (Evelyn) Flynn and her identical twin sister Theresa Jean Flynn.

Jane spent a career in education working at St. Peter’s School in Steubenville and in New York City’s Convent of the Sacred Heart where she taught the children of several famous families, notably Caroline Kennedy. She is best known for her support without judgment, compassion, her laugh, sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends.

Jane will be lovingly remembered by her two children Carlin and Ted (Michelle), her grandchildren Sarah Churchill (Taylor) Lindsey, Spencer and Parker Churchill, and her great-granddaughter Annie Lindsey. Jane will also be forever remembered by her nephews Mike (Connie) Joyce, Terry Joyce, her niece Clara Joyce and her extended family and dear friends.

Due to travel restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 virus, a memorial to Jane will be held at a later date. After cremation, Jane’s ashes will be scattered at sea.
